A rather special find here, this generously aged Japanese blended whisky joins the Forgotten Gems collection, where you'll discover all sorts of relics and rarities. After maturing for 21 years, a total of 35 bottles were produced at a hearty 58% ABV.
Generous layers of sherried fruit and candied nuts lead the way, with festive spice aplenty, backed by meaty malt and hints of spent match. Cooked apple joins in time, joined by sweet, sticky ginger cake.
Berries and currants are accompanied by tangy marmalade and Kola Cubes while herbal honey gathers beneath. Toasted almonds and floral malt join, with warming baking spice.
Drying notes of charred herbs and sherried oak, with salted caramel and buttery fudge keeping things sweet.
good sherry taste, but it is a little bit bland for me(even it is 58% abv, cask strength). You may not find any "orient" from this whisky, but its body is pretty smooth and balance, similar to a bottle of cognac.
