A cask strength single malt, no one knows which distillery this has come from, Finlaggan remains a very closely-guarded secret.
£4.98 - £48.41
Seriously - This is a steal. I think it’s a youngish Caol Ila - but the nearest that I’ve had is the cask strength 12-yo Bunna. It’s worth £70 - or on offer £55 from a “label” brand and it’s standard price here is £49. Look around for this on offer and you really are robbing the bank!
This single malt is creeping up on my scale, almost a go to.
I'm new at tasting notes. Literally just started writing my thoughts down last night while tasting a few whiskies. I found this one to be eye-wateringly potent. The only flavor note I could come up with was cedar sap. It was great fun and enjoyed it immensely.
I get this fairly regularly in Japan for ¥3,750 (about £24) and it’s great. Caol Ila at 6 to 7 years would be my best guess. Love it.
Anyone reading the 1 star review . Ignore it! The mere fact that he/she thought Illeach and Port Askaig are poor shows terrible taste. Both are absolute belters and so is this!
