Fettercairn 29 Year Old 1988 (cask 2039 & 2040) - Cask Strength Collection (Signatory)
A single malt Scotch whisky here from the fabulous Fettercairn distillery. It was distilled in December 1988 and left to mature in two hogshead casks (#2039 and #2040) for 29 years until October 2018, when Signatory bottled it at 55.7% ABV for the Cask Strength Collection. Only 389 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Golden barley and green vegetal notes combine before sticky toffee, citrus peels and fiery woody tannins.
Palate
Creamy nuttiness, tropical fruits and roasted malt lead with milk chocolate and Jamaican ginger cake.
Finish
Warming black pepper and a touch of orchard fruit.
