
This is the Fettercairn Distillery's second release of its 16 year old single malt Scotch whisky, and this time, the team has gone for a distinctly sherried styling. Whisky matured and finished in three different types of sherry casks has been used for this expression, including first-fill Oloroso, refill Oloroso, and first-fill Palo Cortado sherry butts. The complex sherried notes work wonderfully with Fettercairn's top-quality spirit, resulting in a whisky that ought to really impress.
Orange oils, dried cherries and sugared almonds, cedar.
More dried fruit (with sultanas and prunes this time), followed by oily walnuts and a hint of dark chocolate.
Salted caramel, aromatic oak, a hint of coffee.
