I too sampled this in louieville at the Evan Williams experience. It's fantastic, just like the other review it's like woodfords without the oak. True water does open it up but I still sometimes drink it straight no ice. Bottled in Bond is the way to go! Heaven hill is a few up from this but can't see it in the UK. If you got the budget the Evan Williams 12yr is probably the best bourbon I've ever had and worth while buying.
After a trip to Louieville I discovered this bourbon when sampling flights at the Evan Williams experience. Sure there's better, finer, more refined, but as an alternative to the usuals (trace, mark, woodfords, bullet) this is fantastic. Bottled in Bond is with exploring, this is as refined as woodfords without heavy oak.

I agree with another review that it requires a little water to open up. Quite harsh without it but a great sipper with it.
Everything it's cracked up to be: sweet, well-rounded, and likable. Nothing complicated, but what it does, it does well. As one reviewer said — it's fun. At first taste, reminded me of Metaxa 12! The only thing that grates is the price. You can pick this up for less than $15 in the US, and for the price you pay in the UK (nearly £35), there's better whisk(e)y to be had. Still, it makes a pleasant change, and it's not often you get moreish, sippable booze from a bottle with a white plastic screwtop lid.
