A delicate Japanese blended whisky, Enso translates from Japanese to 'circle' or 'cycle'. Hailing from Kiyokawa, within Kanagawa Prefecture, the whisky itself was distilled in pot stills, and matured in American oak. Fabulous neat, though a top contender for a Highball, we reckon.
Lemon blossom, a suggestion of smoke and bright citrus, underpinned by vanilla and caramel.
Toasted oak and woody vanilla, alongside fresh apple, cinnamon and more delicate florals.
Crisp pear and toasted cereals linger.
The first Japanese whisky which disappointed me. There is some very good malt whisky in it, but unfortunately diluted with too much cheap tasteless whisky, such that the taste of ethanol dominates. Way too expensive for this kind of blend, which I would rather compare to JB. Enso disrupts the reputation of Japanese whisky, which can normally play in the league of good single malt scotch whiskies, but it is definitively not the case for Enso.
Beautiful smooth with a nice vanilla after taste, could be my favourite so far.
Amazing taste, very smooth and soft . Excellent value
I was gifted a bottle of this for Christmas, I have to say it was very drinkable and so soft it was great just served over ice. Well worth the price and in fact better than others at double the price, you wont ne disappointed.
This is a good entry level Japanese Blended Whisky. Has strong citrus notes with mellow smoke, cinnamon and more pear than apple but finishes smooth on the palatte with a clear woody vanilla note - overall crisp and dry. I purchased this for a friend who is a whisky fanatic and they liked it. Also at the price I was happy to use it in making cocktails. Will certainly be looking to purchase more as Christmas gifts.
