A milestone whisky from the Edradour distillery, which expanded its facilities in the 2010s, including a full second distillery on site, named Edradour 2. Here we have the inaugural single malt whisky from Edradour! Distilled in 2018, the whisky spent its full seven-year maturation in a host of sherry butts before bottling as part of Edradour's 200th anniversary celebrations.
Heaps of sherried fruit, honeyed figs and dates, chocolate-coated nuts, and a hint of leather.
Big and bold, with raisins and dried berries, cherry chocolate, and treacle toffee.

This is an amazing dram. I can’t believe it’s only 7 years old. Full of the Edradour character. Figs and chocolate.
Despite its relatively young age of 7 years, this whisky carries the "old school" weight and oily texture that Edradour is famous for. It has a dark, dense, and "sticky" profile that feels much older than the label suggests. It opens with a syrupy sweetness on the nose - think honeyed figs, dates, and raisins. There is a layer of chocolate and roasted nuts, with just a hint of polished wood and leather in the background. The palate is quite old and mouth-coating. It starts with a burst of fruitcake, toffee, and cherry chocolate. The 57.1% ABV provides a spicy kick of nutmeg, cinnamon, and a touch of black pepper. You then get a long and warm finish that leaves a lingering trail of dark cocoa, tobacco leaf, and espresso, balanced by a fading jammy sweetness. A drop of water tames the initial peppery heat, allowing the creamy textures to come forward. I would highly recommend this for you if you're a fan of a heavy sherry bomb, or dessert like Highland malt
