Sherry
From Signatory Vintage's Un-Chillfiltered Collection comes a Scotch whisky from the small and charming Edradour Distillery. The Highland single malt is known for being particularly delicious when aged in sherry casks and this 2014 vintage whisky is a happy marriage of four first-fill oloroso sherry butts (casks 44, 63, 153 & 154) that spent a decade maturing before being at 46% ABV. Without any additional colour. Or chill-filtration, of course.
Raspberry jam, currants, nutmeg, sherried oak, crème caramel, and cocoa powder.
Sherried and thick with notes of sultanas, sticky toffee pudding, orange peel, hazelnut, and cinnamon.
Victoria sponge with custard.
As usual a brilliant whisky from Edradour that is full of flavour and character with a deep sherry influence. I cannot recommend this whisky enough.
