    Single Malt

    Edradour 10 Year Old (43%)

Edradour is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries and at the heart of the range, this 10 year old Eastern Highlander is a rather unique single malt, a decidedly rum-like dram with a thick mouthfeel. The distillery’s methods of production remain virtually unchanged in the last 150 years, and we can see why. If it ain’t broke and all that. This single malt’s decade of ageing was spent in a combination of oloroso sherry and bourbon casks.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Medium, great complexity. Thoroughly fruity, sherry, sweetness, alluring vanilla.

    Palate

Cloying, seductive murkiness. Rum, barley, toasted almonds.

    Finish

    Spiced fruitcake with crème anglaise.

    Top whisky

Only whisky I drink now. Nothing else comes close imo.

    Strange and unpleasant

Good on the nose but the taste leaves a lot to wish for. Some dark choclate but also a strange and unpleasent taste of sour red wine. Not very well done, and unbalanced. //E

One of the best, this side of heaven.

While sitting in the garden, in the sun, and sipping this beautiful, golden colored Scotch, it was like heaven, I hope to do this again, ciao. My next bottle of Scotch I buy will be EDRADOUR aged 10 years, ciao

Almost impossible to buy in South Africa. If you see it, buy it!

When Scottish poet Stuart Patterson visited Grahamstown South Africa I shared a bottle amongst friends. Liquid poetry. Had to close up the bottle with just a little left to save for my son. Stuart promised to write a poem called ‘A tot for ma boy’. Unforgettable even; unforgettable whisky.
