All the way from the legendary Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, comes Eagle Rare 10 Year Old. A spectacular Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskey, matured for at least a decade before making its way into its distinctive bottles at 45% ABV. What's so distinctive about the bottles, you ask? Well, we're going to say it's the massive bald eagle, wings outstretched, looking like it's about to snatch up some dinner. Distinctive, yes? The whiskey is also pretty distinctive too, boasting full-bodied notes of cinder toffee, orange peel and buttery corn.
Toasted oak gives way to flamed orange peel and maple syrup.
Honey, buttered bread, oily walnuts and a touch of red fruit.
Vanilla, oak spice and a little bit of old leather.
I've always liked this whiskey for it's unique (to me) nose. But I have to admit that, at about the same price point ($30) here in the US, I find EH Taylor Small Batch a bit more to my liking. Used to find the Taylor at a local convenience store but it seems folks are onto everything Weller these days so it's a little harder to find.
One of the best bourbon whiskeys I've ever enjoyed. It's really hard to find where I live so I pick up a bottle when I come across them.
At this price point this whiskey is one of the best. You will not regret purchasing a bottle of this. In fact stop reading this review and press buy!
I drink a lot of bourbon and I’ve tried all the widely available brands in the UK, in the £20 to £40 range. I always comeback to Eagle Rare, it’s just so smooth with a taste hint of vanilla and burnt caramel. Surprised by some of the negative reviews, but everyone’s tastebuds are different. It’s a 5 star bourbon for me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is okay. It's not as sweet as regular Buffalo Trace in my opinion (I prefer the regular). It's passable. Not worth the money when you can get better for less.
