From the Driftless Glen Distillery, this straight bourbon spent five years resting in a single barrel. Bottled up at a cask strength of 60% ABV, it's an impressive expression from the relatively young Wisconsin distillery.
Toasted oak and dustings of clove, with softer notes of vanilla and butterscotch.
The vanilla continues on the palate alongside poached pear and apple pastries. Sweet oak and barbecued corn build beside prickles of pepper and cinnamon.
A well-balanced end with warming spice and toasty sweetness lingering.
