A limited edition bottling of Scallywag blended malt from Douglas Laing, released in celebration of the company's 70th anniversary. The fact that this expression is a 10 year old blended malt is not a coincidence - in dog years, it would be 70 year old. The cheeky fox terrier on the label even has the monocle to prove it.
Coffee bean, raspberries, buttered scones.
Soft oak arrives on the palate, shortly followed by maple syrup, blueberry muffin and chocolate cake.
Prune, hazelnut cream and clove.
What an utter delight of a dram! Never tired this one till recently but I was not disappointed. It’s a full some cracker of a whisky with loads of spice, chocolate, sherry and fruity notes. Really great. Really impressed!
