McGibbon's is a brand of blended Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing, whose premium blends are usually presented in 50cl bottles shaped like golf bags or club heads. This Red Ribbon release is a less premium offering, but great value.
Sweet and warming, caramel and gentle spices.
A nice all rounder. Smooth and agreeable on its own, and a great base for cocktails too. It might not have grand ambitions, but it has a lovely warm and almost sweet velvet taste which just reeks of cosiness and relaxation.
For say, a budget whisky, this is a lovely smooth easy drinking tipple. You will not be disappointed.
