This is the second release is Douglas Laing's Old Particular Spiritualist Series, and it's a marvellous 28 year old Cameronbridge single grain Scotch whisky! It was distilled back in October 1991 and matured in a sherry butt until August 2020, when it was bottled up at cask strength, with an outturn of 325 bottles. It's been given the title 'Harmony', and it most certainly is a harmonious dram.
Brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, with a hint of banana fritter in the background.
A slowly developing note of milk chocolate appears on the palate, still supported by tasty baking spices.
Softly oaky, with some Turkish delight floral sweetness.
This is very different to other whisky's I have tried. Sherry like on the nose. Full of character and complex. Wonderful.
Bought as a Christmas present for my brother and wish I'd got two, quite possibly the best whisky I've ever tasted. Might have to take it back...
