This is a top Cragganmore for a very reasonable price. Surprisingly complex for a fairly young whisky.
Wee whiffs of vanilla and oak sawdust with some pear, a little mint, maybe hints of peaches, flints, grass.
Fruit jelly, perhaps baked pear. More vanilla too with a soft grassy flavour underneath.
Vanilla on the finish with the same, fresh grassyness we tasted on the palate.
These young Cragganmores are terrific, proof that they make a top distillate.
