This was first created over a century ago by the Dewars master blender. White Label contains around 40 different whiskies in the blend, with Aberfeldy at its heart.
Honey, peach, apple and wood. Cut hay.
Medium, vanilla fudge, smoke, toffee, heather honey, oak.
Good length, cut herbs, honeyed sweetness.
Toffee, fresh cut hay, pears, green apple. A few drops of water helps this blend. On the rocks this makes a decent sipper...
I´ve bought this a few times. It´s agreeable, smooth enough and goes very well with my cocktail of choice, the Arnaud´s Special (Dubonnet and blended scotch). The tasting notes here from the MoM chaps are accurate.
It is thin, can’t stand adding water, and not a good mixer. But, it also lacks any unpleasant taste, making it enjoyable if you need an economical option for a long night session with friends. If you just need something in your glass, not a conversation piece.
Fine whisky it is. Has a slight butterscotch and slight peaty finish. A little pear taste on the front end. I am impressed and I will buy it again. Give it a chance this is no rock gut it may not be ultra premium but its a great dram !
For the cost this blended whisky has a lot to offer. Toffee, vanilla, smoke and spice. Great easy sipper with a nice little kick to finish.
