This was first created over a century ago by the Dewars master blender. White Label contains around 40 different whiskies in the blend, with Aberfeldy at its heart.
Honey, peach, apple and wood. Cut hay.
Medium, vanilla fudge, smoke, toffee, heather honey, oak.
Good length, cut herbs, honeyed sweetness.

I'm not a big fan of peaty scotches, I hate laphroaig 10 (but I keep a bottle around and try it every once in awhile to see if my tastes have changed) White label is pretty smokey, a tiny bit peaty. It's decent and worth having in the cabinet. For a inexpensive scotch, I prefer Speyburn 10, it's Speyside similar to Glenfiddich or Glenlivit 12's . Truth be told I'd of course prefer something a bit older, more complex, current preference is with some sherry cask influence, but those bottles don't cost under $30. White label is good to have around for a smokey choice on a weekday. It does not taste like some cheap Canadian Whiskey, it doesn't have that rubbing alcohol flavor, it's decent, just a bit plain, other than the smokiness.
I've have enjoyed Dewars for a long time now. Will continue to enjoy for the rest of my Time on this war torn World.
Do you spend two minutes, or more, before each sip nosing your scotch, hunting out the different notes? Do you like to savor the taste of your whisky as it slides from the front of your mouth and over your tongue? Do you enjoy allowing the finish to rise back up through your throat and back out your nose, noting how the wonderful thing you are sipping is developing right before your senses? If this sounds anything like how you drink your Scotch (or Bourbon, etc.) then you owe it to yourself to never drink Dewar's white label. This stuff is bad, really bad. The nose: Imagine Aberlour 12 mixed with cleaning solution. That's not an exaggeration; I did a side-by-side and that is what it smells like. The palate: Oak, vanilla, citrus lemon hints, some peat and... cleaning solution. The finish: cleaning solution. The sad thing is, there are hints of a good malt or two mixed in here with the Mr.Clean. Even sadder, is that stuff like this is why many people think whisk(e)y is disgusting.
Boo
There are lots of Scotch out there, For the price of 750ml, Dewar's White label can't be beat! I would say that J&B Scotch is the runner up for the price.
