This was first created over a century ago by the Dewars master blender. White Label contains around 40 different whiskies in the blend, with Aberfeldy at its heart.
Honey, peach, apple and wood. Cut hay.
Medium, vanilla fudge, smoke, toffee, heather honey, oak.
Good length, cut herbs, honeyed sweetness.

Over 30 years ago, a Scottish engineer with whom I was working told me "Drink Glenmorangie (he pronounced it glen-more-ANG-gie) and if you can't get that, drink Dewars.
I've had some of the best scotch's and most expensive scotch's . Dewars white label blended is still the best. People think because a very expensive scotch cost so much that it must be better. Not true.
I have not tried a neat blended whiskey for years. Living in Thailand I was running low on single malts and decided to bulk out the remaining supply with some better value scotch. White Label is 16 GBP a litre compared to 35 GBP for the cheapest single malt 70 Cl. On various whiskey sites this has achieved Gold and Silver awards for blended whiskey. I have to say the initial sensation was somewhat harsh and fiery. I was pleasantly surprised by the smokey notes and took the advice of other reviewers and put a couple of pieces of ice in it. Still undecided so I am trying another snort .....
Pay for what you get and with Dewar's White Label you get what you payed for. Not bad whisky for that. Aberfeldy is the heart of Scotland leading to the gate way to the highland. The water there is obviously superior to the lowlands. A very good introduction to whisky, palatable at any dinner party and,or, of course anytime. It could take a life time to be a connoisseur of whisky on the other hand, you can enjoy without no preconceived idea of how a whisky should taste, this changes through time and place, single malt or blended. Enjoy!
I wouldn't say I'm a snob but I'm partial to Macallan 12 for my "one drink" per day. I got this because it seemed to be a little more affordable so I wouldn't feel guilty for having maybe a second drink. haha This to me smells and tastes like fried electronics. If you've ever smoke a piece of car or home audio equipment, or the occasional computer power supply, then you know what I speak of. Makes me sick to my stomach from just a few sips. Blah. I'll just work a little harder to make a tad bit more money and buy the better stuff.
