An intriguing release from the Darkness independent bottling range, which sees 12 year old Tennessee bourbon whisky finished in Oloroso sherry octave casks! This has introduced a huge dollop of rich, intense sherried notes to the spirit, while keeping its distinctive vanilla and baking spice at the core. Always fascinating to see whisky from the USA go through similar finishing processes as expressions from closer to home. Nose
Gingerbread cake, honeyed apples, cinnamon, dates.
Palate
Chocolate chip cookies, squidgy sultanas, a touch of dark chocolate growing underneath.
Finish
Cinnamon once again, with brown sugar and vanilla pod.
