Campbeltown 8 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish (Darkness)
The folks at Darkness know their stuff when it comes to sherry cask finishing, ensuring its whiskies have reached the peak of perfection before cracking open their diddy little octave casks to bottle them up. The smaller casks ensure more contact between spirit and wood, which means more sherry influence for this blended malt Scotch from the Campbeltown region, which finished its eight-year maturation in an oloroso sherry octave.

Nose
Creamy grist and toasted oak are wrapped up in waves of brine and oily malt, while dates and prunes bring fruity sweetness beneath.
Palate
Toffee apples, candied pineapple, salted caramel, and leathery oak are backed by creamy notes of praline and robust, woody spice.
Finish
A touch of ginger arrives, bolstered by maple syrup and blueberries, stewed red fruits, Malted Milk biscuits, and mocha.
