Dalmore The Trio
A cracking addition to The Ensemble Collection from Dalmore, this litre bottle of The Trio was originally released as a Travel Retail exclusive. After initially maturing in ex-bourbon casks, the single malt was divided between a combination of more first-fill ex-bourbon casks, tawny Port pipes, and Matusalem sherry casks, before coming together again in this delicious harmony.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Heaps of tangy, zesty fruit with notes of dried cranberry, orange peel, and cherry chocolate.
Palate
Still fruity with dark berry compote and stewed plums. Hints of leathery oak creep in, with creamy barley and buttered shortbread.
Finish
A touch of woody anise and clove are balanced by silken caramel, rounded off with plenty of oaken vanilla.
