Single malt from the Dalmore distillery, initially aged in American white oak casks before enjoying a finishing period in Port pipes. These casks were sourced from well-known port producer W&J Graham's. This isn't the first time that Dalmore has shown an appreciation for Graham's casks - a trio of releases from mid-2017 were all finished in Graham's Port casks (see here, here and here).
Clove-studded orange, rich raspberry and prune, a touch of sponge cake.
Chocolatey at first, before waves of dried fruit and stem ginger notes appear. A touch of earthy bitterness develops later on, balanced by runny honey.
Roast chestnuts, gingerbread and tobacco.
The smell is not pleasent. The taste is weird. I do not recomened this whisky. I love The 15 y old so buy 12 y or 15 y if you want a Dalmore.
I love Port, I love Whisky. It tastes beautiful. I dont know enough about Whisky to pick out flavours etc. But those new to scene. This is the one. This is worth every penny. Get it bought
Great whisky, you can smell berries, and taste nectarines and nuts. Aftertaste, coffee. Great taste.
I will put one on my wish list as it’s my 50th in May. I’ve tried before and it’s a great blend.
A very smooth sweet dram loads of Port, Dried Fruit, with coffee hints leaving a toffee taste very good value.
