The Dalmore 15 year old was first launched in 2007. Matured in Matusalem, Apostoles and Amoroso Sherry casks, it proffers all those winter spice, orange zest and chocolate notes characteristic of Dalmore.
A chocolate orange. Potpourri, perfumed. Fruitcake, Sherry.
Medium, lovely delivery. Zesty orange, Curaçao, chocolate. Winter spice, stem ginger in syrup. Hints of anise and a little hickory.
Malty barley and smoky espresso.
Very smooth, great colour and wonderfully enjoyable so says the recipient of the bottle, my husband.
I know there are other reviews saying there are better whisky's out there for the price and appreciate The Dalmore had almost doubled in cost in the past couple of years but it’s still a fantastic dram. One for the sweet tooth’s.
I get dark raisin or some grape note so strong! Taste isn’t at sweet as it smells. It’s phenomenal in my opinion. Just wish they made the proof a little stronger.
Yes it's chill filtered , yes it's full of colouring and bottled at 40% but my word what a stunning sherry bomb, the nose is all about chocolate orange and spices , tastes as good as it smells and feels like they've used excellent casks that pack huge flavours, definitely going to buy another
This is by far one of the better bottles I've purchased. It's got this intense sweetness that fades into fruitiness... This the first sherry cast I've had and I purchased another more recently, looking back on it I might have a thing for sherry casks...
