A very popular blend, particularly on the American market, started by Berry Bros & Rudd and named for the tea clipper Cutty Sark, said to be the fastest of its time.
Light, gentle. Cut herbs, floral, custard, hay.
Rounded, mixed peels, lots of barley.
Good length, warming, malt.
I tried this once, decades ago. Tasted more like tequila than scotch. Hard pass forever.
Almost as bad as JW Red Label.
I gave 2 stars Label Five,gave 2,5 stars to Johnnie Walker,I consider William L,awsons and Passport around 2,5 five stars,so this deserves a 3.Have a refreshing quality,good for hot weather,is a Summer's whisky...it,s a lemonade whisky...
Nice light color and goes down very easily with a little ice. Not the most complex of flavors, but very drinkable and at a good price point.
Of the old brands that are still available, this is one I can't recommend. It is harsh and not unlike it's fellow travelers on the bottom shelf, JWR, Teacher's, Clan McGregor, it is medicinal tasting with the hint of diesel fuel that makes it among the last of choices available.
