A youthful single malt from the Craigellachie distillery, independently bottled by the smashing Signatory chaps. This was distilled in June 2008 and matured in a pair of bourbon barrels for 8 years before being bottled in February 2017.
Honey-roasted cashew, buttery popcorn, a hint of gristy sweetness.
Grassy and fresh, with a little menthol in there too.
Lots of barley notes linger on the finish.
If you look for a complex and rich Scotch, this is not an option ; but if you want a pretty enjoyable one for summer evenings, this is a good pick.
