Craigellachie 12 Year Old 2009 (cask 15251) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Distilled in January 2009, this single malt from Craigellachie spent 12 years maturing in a single ex-bourbon hogshead. Finally, in August 2021, the gang at Douglas Laing cracked open the cask to release a total outturn of 314 bottles for its Old Particular series.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Candied orange and gingersnap biscuits, sweet barley, and aromatic spice.
Palate
Oaky vanilla kicks in with creamy caramel and toasted oak, rich malt and more spiced, baked fruit.
Finish
Woody wafts of tobacco with more candied fruits and cakey spice, vanilla fudge, and crystalised ginger.
