Sherry

A well-sherried, indie Craigellachie here! This one was distilled in November 2007, and spent over a decade in a single sherry butt. At 12 years old, indie bottler Heroes & Heretics bottled the whisky in May 2020. Just 727 bottles were released at a healthy 51% ABV, packed full of dried fruit and roasty notes.
Red fruit and caramel digestives, along with mocha and treacle toffee.
Chocolate-coated raisin, cinnamon swirl and oily roasted nuts, with syrup sponge.
Spicy oak and fruitcake linger.

I chose this whisky due to the stand out label and boy was I happy I did.. Smooth on the palette with a nice spicy kick at the back a real winter warmer.. Different and delicious!!
Beautiful drop. Oaky and spicy. Lovely as a winter whisky on an evening if you are looking for an exciting new producer & a change from the usual names.
Thought I would check this out due to its stylish label and I’m glad I did. Myself and a friend got through the whole bottle in one night and two ice cubes was perfect to my taste. Will buy again.
