Arguably the most important peated Irish whiskey, Connemara was the first in the modern era of renaissance to remind folks that Irish whiskey can be smoky. In fact, it often was, and Connemara Peated Whiskey is inspired by the whiskies that would have been made over the centuries in Ireland in areas like the one that gives the expression its name. Turf (as the Irish often call peat) was what was available to the early whiskey makers, so prior to the 20th century, peated whiskey was commonplace in Ireland. Connemara whiskey is produced at the famous Cooley Distillery and has a distinct but still delicate smokiness, balanced by a smooth texture and sweet taste. This profile has been highly decorated, receiving over 20 medals from major spirits competitions since 2012.
Well-smoked and peated, heather freshness and floral notes with a honeyed sweetness and a little wood.
Full and smooth with notes of malt and peat, honeyed smoke and barley sweetness.
Long and pungent with honey and peat smoke.

All Connemaras i have tried are very nice, but this one... It might work for people who just started to love peated whisky, but for the rest of us, one get soo much more adding just a little bit of money more. Please do!
On the edge of not liking it... Very thin, very watered down whiskey. It’s ok on the nose, honeyed sweetness, vegetal earthy peaty smoke.. Flat on the palate, honey, malty, smokey at the end. Finish short and bit minty...
Was gifted this and what a find it was! Really enjoyed this fantastic peated whisky out of Ireland. Fans of Islay will love this, slightly different in style to anything else I've tried. Looking to get my hands on a bottle of Cask strength Connemara ASAP.
Lovely and a unique taste
Been carving for peated scotch for quite sometimes, surprisingly I found this bottle nearby... And it not disappointing at all!!! Nose: nice smell, no sharp edges, smokey, touched of kipper, vegetal earthy kind of smoked, a bit of tropical fruits.. Palate : thin... way to thin..., sweet honeyed malt, smokey, nice kinda minty at the back Finish : nice, medium to long finish..
