A rich, spicy Clynelish distilled in June 1995 and aged for 16 years in a refill hogshead before bottling in November 2011. A release of 287 bottles from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range.
Nose: Zesty and spiced, hints of freshly mown grass, grist and honey.
Palate: A big-bodied palate with notes of barley, digestive biscuits, wintry spices and salt caramel. A hint of soft smoke.
Finish: A long, spiced finish with caramel and grist on the tail. Hints of smoke.
