A 12 year old Japanese blended whisky, produced by Chugoku Jozo for the Togouchi range, who age their whiskies in a tunnel (makes a nice change from a warehouse, doesn't it?). Rather peaty, with spicy notes of oak running through it.

Nose: Caramelised lemon. Palate: Washing powder. It does a job. Just shouldn't be doing this one. After: Finishes by bashing across the edges. Chalky.
A surprising whisky, and although it is only partially japanese, it has those unique japanese qualities of smothness, balance, fullness of aroma !
Matches up nicely against other Japanese Whiskeys. Some peat, a little cherry maybe. But the Togouchi folks sure like to give you a blast of alcohol on the nose and a burn going down.
Fellows, pls avoid this whisky, it is not a real Japanese whisky, Japanese package, inside Scotch.
