Chivas Brothers has crafted a wonderful well-sherried blend for its Chivas Regal range! This 13 Year Old expression (superstitions, be gone!) spent its entire maturation exclusively in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. A wonderful fruity, spicy sipper to enjoy.
Stewed orchard fruit and sherried dried fruit, with polished oak and caramelised nuts.
Vanilla fudge, pear and blackberry crumble and lots of baking spice, along with frangipane and toffee apple.
A pinch of tobacco on a dry and sweetly spiced finish.

“A lovely way to round off an evening in good company. A rich flavoursome drink, which, should be enjoyed rather than analysed. The current trend for ‘single-malt Scotch Whisky’ has filled up our supermarkets with countless unpronounceable names from obscure distillers. There are dozens to choose from. Much of is is, quite frankly, badly in need of something to be blended with! My compliments to the individual responsible for blending this whisky. You did a very fine job. Your product is likely to remain on my birthday list for as long as you care to make it. ”

I have all the blends up to 15 year old....this I must say is my favourite tipple. I get the stewed apples with raisins. It has a dry rich Olrosso on the front of the tongue with blackberry and red apple. Finish lingers with vanilla and old books. Wow
Money we'll spent. Whilst the 12yo is a great tipple on its own, I never mind if a splash of Coke is put in; put a mixer in my 13yo extra at your peril.
Can taste the vivid fruity sweet flavours follows by gentle tobacco and boozy cask ageing. Sherry is evident. However the smoothness soon takes your breath away a little. But this is on of the best blended mixes you can get for this money
Much better than the 12-year-old ,feels the maturation in oloroso, quite successful for a blended scotch, and the price seems very good for what you get, that's why I'll give it 4 stars :)
Good job...
