Cardhu Gold Reserve is a whisky that's as smooth and golden as its namesake. Cardhu Gold Reserve is a blend of Speyside and Highland single malt whiskies, each aged for at least 12 years. The result is a complex yet well-balanced whisky with notes of honey, vanilla, and citrus. Cardhu Gold Reserve is the perfect choice for those looking for a sophisticated yet approachable whisky.
Cardhu is the latest Diageo distillery to have a little core range shake up with the launch of a no age statement single malt (or two). Created using hand-picked toasted oak casks, Cardhu Gold Reserve offers something different to the classic 12 year old with a fruitier nose and a dry, warming palate.
Honeyed tinned stone fruits, toffees and a hint of strawberry with red apple and ginger coming through with a little water.
Fairly dry with biscuity oak and a little cinnamon as well as some development of those toffee and apple notes.
Gentle oak and (milk chocolate) caramel digestives.
Described as a "generous" whisky, it's a description that matches both the nose and its general easy-drinking nature.

Not complex, but it has the best bits. Definitely honey/toffee on the nose, and slightly drier toffee biscuit/malt on the palate. Easy friendly drinking. Tasted Sept 2020.
Having been drinking more bourbon and rum of late, I'd forgotten just how good an excellent Scotch can be. Floral notes on the nose, backed up with an almost honey'd flavour, that's as smooth as velvet, and my only criticism would be that it hasn't a cask strength option for those who like a bit more bite, however it's a truly delicious whisky.
I’m fairly new to whiskey so I’m working my through the endless tipples available... this one for me is absolutely delicious, the aroma, taste in the mouth and finish hits every bell and whistle, I’m no expert but I know when I’m tasting something special and this one is very special.
I bought the GoT version of this, don't know if there's any difference but my what a lovely dram this is. I mean it's oak all the way, if you don't like your whisky woody, then stay away. But if you like that deep oakiness, caramel, toffee, vanilla and other beautiful and complex flavours, then this is your drink. Nothing harsh or nasty about this at all, just flavour all the way and a really nice alternative to the heavier and peaty whiskies. Absolutely love this and will certainly be acquiring another bottle very soon.
An amazing smooth , aromatic flavour cinnamon smell hits your nose I love to smell this scotch whisky definitely one of my favourite single malts
