Joining the Provenance Coastal Collection from indie bottler Douglas Laing comes this smashing single malt from Caol Ila. Distilled in October 2012, it was filled into a single hogshead, where it slumbered for eight years. In September 2021, the cask was opened, releasing an outturn of 419 bottles of this classically coastal Islay.
Big bold smoke with beach barbecue and smouldering ash, splashes of salinity and herbal lemon zest.
More bonfire smoke, vegetal oak, and seaweed with tarry peat and wafts of cured meat.
Sea spray and sooty smoke linger, with layers of tangy peat, bittersweet orange, and peppery oak.
