Another impressive release from indie bottler Wilson & Morgan, this single malt was distilled at Caol Ila in 2007 and treated to 15 years of maturation. That time included a finishing period in first-fill sherry hogsheads before the whisky was bottled up in 2022.
Earthy notes of leathery oak are softened by tangy marmalade, with whisps of woody spice and smoked tea.
Waxy citrus and heaps of oaken spice, with polished cedar, anise, and clove leading towards sweeter candied fruits and damp, smoky peat.
Stewed apples and more bittersweet peels balance hearty smoke and pungent, charred earth.
