Douglas Laing
Scotland
Single Malt

What you see before you here is single cask Islay whisky that Douglas Laing snapped up from Caol Ila Distillery for its Old Particular range. It was distilled back in November 2010 and was aged in a single refill hogshead for 12 years before it was bottled up in December 2022 at 48.4% ABV with no chill-filtration or additional colouring.
Lemon peel, rock pools, vanilla, garden herbs, and a hint of liquorice.
Oily and sweet with custard, ginger, and lots of maritime smoky elements.
Full of smoke and creamy sweetness.

Not a bad drink this. Tried a sample. Probably worth the 85 quid price tag tbf. Fairly strong smoky whiskey this one. Not enough fruity flavours in it for me but there's a nice smokey kick to it. Got a slight aftertaste of aniseed aswell as a bit lemony. Would buy again
