Indie bottler Decadent Drinks has released this cracking Caol Ila in its collaborative series with Whisky Sponge. Edition No.66 is a 12-year-old Islay single malt, with the gloriously peaty whisky maturing in a sherry butt. It was bottled in 2022, at cask strength, with an outturn of 374.
Sherry sweetness joins the earthy peat.
Charred peaches, barbecue smoke, and salty sea spray.
Lingering, earthy smoke, with some sticky raisins.
