    Butterscotch & Vanilla & Toast & A Generation 30 Year Old

Love yourself some well-matured grain whisky and maybe too many ampersands? OK, perhaps it's more likely that the number of ampersands in a whisky's name doesn't really matter to you one way or the other. Never-the-less, if you're a grain whisky fan, Butterscotch & Vanilla & Toast & A Generation will be very appealing to you indeed! This expression is a 30 year old blended grain Scotch whisky, offering up notes of... Well, the name hits the main themes (it's sort of like it's trying to do my job, and I'm not 100% sure how I feel about that), and there's lots more deliciousness where that came from too. Tuck in!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Honeycomb, red grapes, immensely buttery, Golden Grahams, a smidge of waxy orange peel, polished oak, and a touch of floral spring breeze.

    Palate

Thick with rich butterscotch, freshly baked cookies dotted with chocolate chunks, slightly peppery at points with a dry hint of toasted cedar.

    Finish

Waxy peels from the nose return, with layers of vanilla, cinnamon, gingerbread, and treacle for company.

    Different

The first time I tried this it was my introduction to grain whisky and it made such a big impact that I’m now on my next bottle. Delicious!

    C'mon get Aff

Who knew that grain could be so good. My first venture into this area but it won't my last. It's quite distinctive in it's flavour which is well sign posted and frankly getting a 30 year old Albeit blended and of the grain is fantastic at the special offer price of £50 Give it a punt, you won't regret it

    So disappointing

This had a ghastly artificial flavour, like somebody had added the flavours on the label (perhaps they had). It was rough not smooth and I could not have been more disappointed. I'd prefer to drink Famous Grouse and I hate that. I drink a lot of whisky and love exploring new ones. I also buy (and drink) a lot of high quality whiskies from auctions, so I do know what I am talking about............

    Flavoursome

Lots of flavour but not too complex. Easy to drink. You wouldn't have put it as a 30yr old though

    Not bad at all!

It’s a 30 year old blended grain. I expected it to be a decent drinking dram and it is. A pleasant nose and you get a hint of the age on the palette. If it was £20 cheaper I would buy another bottle but at this price point there is better options.
