Not very bodied but very good for the price.
I just bought this at 12:00 at night from my local corner-shop about 20 minutes ago, simply for the other options being Red Label, Claymore, Teachers and other weird unknown blends.
This is being drunk in the wake of a 12 year old sherry casked Macallen, so compared to that it's rather thin and fleeting. There's also discernable, faintly paraffiny grain spirit in it.
All that said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it at all and given that it costs nothing, it's certainly quite good.

Ok so I'm loving the Bushmills Black Bush and the Jameson regular (& most any Jameson expressions (not Black Barrel, too sweet)) so your reference to some meaningless inheritance history is ….uhh... meaningless?
Let's try side by side.
OK Bush Black.. hmm that great nose; grapey, malty, sherry cask ageing....its really great sherry influence and fruity, hmm, lovely finish, little bit of mint on the tail,,,nice lingering finish, wow, Awesome!
Jameson: nose, ok there's some fruit there, grapes, peaches, blood orange, yes going citric orange, lime. Pallette: wow cream, this is like cream enfused with all the nose fruit cocktail noses, peaches, orange, but add hint of raspberry's and cream , then blood orange comes back in but all so soft and creamy, on the finish there's some fruit and sugars and vanilla/toffee there very subtly..... mostly fruit but a shorter finish compared to the Bushmills Black.
Wow, that was very interesting...….The Bushmills Black, fruity, sherry, lush but the
Jameson, wow, so smooth, so fruity, so mellow,,, you get all the fruity notes but so soft. Wow the
difference is apparent the Jameson is much easier and very smooth.
Summary: Buy Jameson standard, you cant go wrong. Excellent Triple Distilled Irish Whiskey

Excellent accompaniment with Guinness
Black Bushmills is a wonderful compliment to a Guinness . Anyone grinding on about Jameson’s is talking poppycock as John Jameson was born in Alloa Scotland and received the Bowmore distillery as a Wedding present . Let’s stop the Jameson v Bushmills hyperbole as it’s completely childish rumour . LOL
