This heavily-peated Staoisha single malt from Bunnahabhain joins the Un-Chillfiltered Collection from indie bottler Signatory. Matured for eight years in a selection of de-charred and re-charred hogsheads between 2014 and 2022, it's an impressive offering from the Islay distillery.
Hearty notes of sea breeze and beach bonfire with richly roasted malt and floral vanilla.
Almond butter and crushed pecans are joined by burnt sugar, with generous helpings of vegetal peat smoke in tow. Hints of floral tea emerge in time, joined by peppery spice.
Lingering peat smoke keeps things coastal and herbaceous, while spiced winter fruits and a touch of liquorice bring balance.
This is a fantastic peated Bunnahabhain . At this price it's an absolute steal too . I definitely reccomend grabbing one
