Bunnahabhain's Stiùireadair single malt pays homage to the distillery's shoreline on the north-east coast of Islay. They used whisky matured in first and second fill Sherry casks, with a leaning towards deliciously coastal malt.
Brine, toasted sugar and caramel-drizzled raisins.
Honey-roasted nuts, cinnamon and clove, with a touch of salt sea too.
Sherried peels and chilli-chocolate.

I find this hard to enjoy.. boring whiskey with taste of halm, some wuird sweet taste and a good splash of salt.. I like the salty part but there's so many better whiskies at this price range.
On first tasting it is like what the 12 year old used to be 2 year's ago. It has the rich first fill sherry that I fell in love with in a bunnahabhain and it does have a very slight salty brine to it in the background. Excellent dram for the price. And apart from an age statement, it ticks all the boxes (46.3%abv, non chill filtered and natural colour)
Ok - no notes on flavour - simply a comment. At a recent blind Whisky Tasting - from 6 ‘Good’ Whiskies Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair was voted unanimously to be the best. Give it a try !
Delicious. Sweet, dried fruit, creamy. Christmas spices. Quite like a cognac in a way. Rounded finish rolls on and on.
Nice Bunna for ridiculous money... bargain. First impression, diluted 12yo but give it some time to open up. Apart of obvious cherry palette there’s sweetness, damp earthy notes, nuts and plums. Amazing long fruity finish with some complexity, again great value for money!
