Bunnahabhain's Stiùireadair single malt pays homage to the distillery's shoreline on the north-east coast of Islay. They used whisky matured in first and second fill Sherry casks, with a leaning towards deliciously coastal malt.
Brine, toasted sugar and caramel-drizzled raisins.
Honey-roasted nuts, cinnamon and clove, with a touch of salt sea too.
Sherried peels and chilli-chocolate.

I tried a glass of this at my dad's, and wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. I'd never tried Bunnahabhain before; I'm normally more of a Glendronach/Aberlour drinker, but this one was such a nice everyday drop that I decided to get a bottle. Perfect for sitting in the garden watching the evening clouds roll by. I liked it so much I've decided to try the Bunnahabhain 12 and perhaps some of the other offerings.
Another Bunna to add to the shelf. Tasty on all fronts, can’t say that one stands out. Like a sixth-man coming off the bench, or a Leatherman....but I digress.
Bunnahabhain has long been my favourite distillery, but I’m disappointed with this. Some whiskies are good at a young age. Bunna is not. It’s almost unrecognisable as Bunnahabhain.
It's smooooth with great after flavours, I got the salt, the sherry but I also got hint of honey and a fruity after taste. Unfortunately my wife liked it so it got finished too quickly. But as in everything it is subjective and all down to individual taste certainly worth a try.
This is a dram among drams absolutely superb an old fashioned dram with a new take
