Bunnahabhain's Stiùireadair single malt pays homage to the distillery's shoreline on the north-east coast of Islay. They used whisky matured in first and second fill Sherry casks, with a leaning towards deliciously coastal malt.
Brine, toasted sugar and caramel-drizzled raisins.
Honey-roasted nuts, cinnamon and clove, with a touch of salt sea too.
Sherried peels and chilli-chocolate.

I like this a lot. I am not comparing this to the Bunnahabhain 12 yo as it is not a Bunnahabhain 12 yo, but stands out on it's own merits. I would guess on a blind tasting this would equal or, shock horror, surpass the 12 yo. I am all for distillery's putting out variations as I love to try new Whisky's and although I have my favorite staples you never know when another will replace them. I just wish people would judge them on what they are and for £26 what's not to like!
I brought one at Christmas they Usually have one glass and I take the rest home thy drank the whole bottle loved it

While the 12yr has been my go-to, I decided to try this one and I am incredibly impressed and plan on making this a staple. Great for kicking back (like every scotch) and letting the day sink away, its smooth and flavorful body flows with a subtle sting of sweetness at the finish.
