Has there ever been a moment when you've been sipping Bulleit Bourbon and wanted it to have even more rye? Well you're in luck, they now have their own Rye whiskey! Bulleit Rye is made with a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley and is produced in small batches. An absolutely stunning rye that won a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2013.
Big heaps of cherries and vanilla, with subtle notes of leather and tobacco.
Rather hot at first, the spices coming to the forefront. This is followed by peaches, more cherries and a little bit of orange zest.
A smoky finish, carried by cinnamon, allspice and a hint of sweeties.
The Bulleit distillery sure know their way around a rye whiskey.

Smooth, delicious although I'm not a big fan of american Whiskey, but this is an exception. Lovely stuff
I've recently begun to drizzle a bit of honey into a glass, pour a little hot water to make a simple syrup, cover with Bulleit Rye and then a little more hot water to taste. Very smooth, very delicious.
I can't think of a better rye at this price point. Its got enough depth and character to stand on its own and at this price you can feel good about using it in mixed drinks and cocktails.
Wow! I was blown away when I first tried this by how smooth, ultra sweet and fruity it is while still maintaining quite a spicy overtone. The fruity lingering finish of dried apricot, peaches, and even a hint of mango is truly sublime and beats many a top quality speyside for me. Imagine this matured for a few more years and bottled at cask strength. Never thought a rye grain whiskey could be so good!
I've always been a bourbon guy, preferring Makers Mark and Wild Turkey. First taste of Bulleit Rye and I was converted. Now, there's a new quart of Makers Mark I received as a gift more than a year ago. It remains unopened. They didn't know I'd found Bulleit Rye.
