Buffalo Trace is the flagship bourbon for the eponymous distillery made from corn, rye and malted barley. It’s aged in new oak barrels in historic old warehouses. The award-winning bourbon is batched from no more than 40 barrels at a time, and is aged on the middle floors of the distillery warehouses where the temperature fluctuation is the greatest. A top whiskey, with oodles of vanilla, barrel char and spicy complexity.
Spicy and sweet with caramel, creamy toffee eclairs, hints of cinnamon, rum spice and cereal sweetness.
Brown sugar, toffee apple, sweet oak, custard, oily espresso beans, a touch of chocolate-covered raisins and toasty wood.
Good length with sweet spices, cinnamon gum and toffee.
Maybe I drank too much Southern Comfort way long ago. This sort of tastes like it without the sweetness. If this is what bourbon tastes like. I never want it. Will stick to Irish Whiskey, Scotch, and good ol Tennessee whiskey instead.
I do love this bourbon, however I do realize it's very simple on the taste. In my opinion you take a look at what other bourbons like a Jim Beam double oaked or Evan Williams black label that comes in at around the same price and Buffalo Trace is far better.
Nice sweetness, lots brown sugar, apple and spices. A really good smooth bourbon for an extremely good price.
Been drinking wild turkey 101 recently thought ill go back to the buffalo as it never disappoints... well it didnt, its such an easy drinker and its cheap considering how good it is
Starting out my Whisk(e)y journey and this is my first "serious" burbon, really enjoying it. Im more used to Scotch and very peaty whiskeys and this is super smooth in comparison. Very tasty and full of flavour. Smells like Cherrys and Toffee. Strong Caramel taste with a hint of Berries. Super easy to drink I could happily drink this all night compared to a more peaty Scotch where one or two is the sweet spot for me personally. I managed to pick this up for £18 and I cant believe the value - highly recommend
