Buffalo Trace Bottling Note

Buffalo Trace is the flagship bourbon for the eponymous distillery made from corn, rye and malted barley. It’s aged in new oak barrels in historic old warehouses. The award-winning bourbon is batched from no more than 40 barrels at a time, and is aged on the middle floors of the distillery warehouses where the temperature fluctuation is the greatest. A top whiskey, with oodles of vanilla, barrel char and spicy complexity.

Nose: Spicy and sweet with caramel, creamy toffee eclairs, hints of cinnamon, rum spice and cereal sweetness.

Finish: Good length with sweet spices, cinnamon gum and toffee.

Buffalo Trace Reviews

Good mixing

Good for an old fashioned or a sour

Good for the money

Good everyday pour. Could definitely benefit from a bit more proof but that isn't what this bourbon is. This is actually hard to find in some states in the US so it's good we can get it easily at a great price. Is a little thin if you are used to more robust flavours but I'd get this over standard blanton's and the price difference is insane

Good solid bourbon

Decent stuff spicy and not too sweet. Very reasonably priced as well. I’m not a bourbon expert but I prefer Evan Williams to this, a bit more complexity for very slightly more.

For beginners & beyond.

Great bourbon for beginners and beyond. It's smooth and far too easy to drink with a balance of sweetness and spice. Price is good and almost always on offer in the UK (<£20)

Nice finish and not to sweet.

Halfway through a bottle. This punches way above it's weight. easily stands up to other Bourbons that are twice the price!

Better by a long Shot!

Better by a long shot, Try blind tasting it against any Bourbon below 40GBP and it stands well above the crowd. Smooth, mellow, notes of toasted oak, vanilla with a long savory finish.

Good Quality 👍

Tried it last night as bar had no jack Daniels... wow what a fine bourbon although a little on the sweet side for me but still very moreish, I think I'll be leaving the JD for a while.

Price doesn't denote quality

Very smooth and slightly sweet. I prefer this to jd. An excellent bourbon, to my taste.

glad I tried it

First time for me trying this bourbon. I'm usually drinking Bulleit, WT 101, or Larceny.
This has a direct, unassuming taste. The nose carries a muted coriander tone. I'm getting a lot of rich vanilla pastry cream, some spicy oak, caramel and hay. I used to chew on raw wheat berries and this reminds me of the aftertaste they left, although I don't think there's any wheat in the mash. Dried apples mixed with dusky grain. After all, I have to say I'm a fan.

Budget Sipper

Good beginner bourbon. Great sipper for the price (US).
