Originally released for the Travel Retail Market in the first half of 2016, Port Charlotte 2007 CC:01 is a peated expression from the Bruichladdich distillery which has been fully matured in French oak casks!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Smoky oak lingers throughout, but sweet vine peach and juicy plum notes are up-front and lively.
Toasted almond and meaty malt leading into smoky bacon. Warming spices, zesty orange and fresh red apple.
Vanilla, leather furniture, lemon meringue.
$37.76 - $150.63
This is my absolute number one malt whisky, i love the Islay whisky’s, and when i first came across the CC 01, i fell in love with it. As i travelled a lot, i’d buy a bittle whener i was heading home after a business trip. Then it stopped being available and since i’d drunk all i had, i was annoyed I’d not put a few bottles down. I found a couple of bottles at an online retailer last week, and snapped them up, just having a wee dram now, just as awesome a drop as i remember!!
Not an expert whisky taster, but I have loved drinking the golden nectar for well over 45 years! This is in my humble opinion a spectacular single malt and worthy of a place in any serious whisky drinkers collection. Clearly it is a smoky peaty flavour but very smooth and has a long finish with the peat hanging deliciously around in the mouth. All in all a spectacular whisky and one I will certainly buy again!!
Hurry up and get it back in stock, this is my absolute favourite.
One of the best i tasted
My absolute favourite, wish it would hurry back and be in stock
