After deciding that they wanted to make a Slovenian single malt whisky, the creators of Broken Bones spent years learning and developing their techniques, experimenting with distillation and maturation until they had what they wanted. Dangerous work it seems – one of the pair broke his leg during the early distillation, with the other breaking his nose a few days later! At least it provided good inspiration for a brand name. This single malt matures for three years in a combo of Slovenian and American oak before bottling without added colour or chill filtration.
