An ominously delicious offering from the indie Whisky of Voodoo range. This ten year old blended Islay Scotch whisky has been treated to a finishing period in ex-Amarone wine casks, imparting rich helpings of dark, red fruit notes to the classic smoky core. The label has some rather fearsome artwork, in keeping with the Whisky of Voodoo name. Ought to be ideal for Islay fans who enjoy ritualistic whisky tasting, a delicious dram to sip and savour.
Medicinal peat arrives right away, with peppery malt, vinous fruit, and stewed berries.
Intense, oily barley and charred oak, with dense maritime smoke, and red wine richness. Nutty, with hearty helpings of green peppercorn.
Tar and vanilla tangle, the coastal salinity continues, while smouldering embers linger.
