Wine Cask

The Rebels Guerilla Casks range from bottlers Brave New Spirits is all about finding more interesting and outlandish casks for whisky than the traditional offerings of ex-bourbon or sherry. Case in point, this cask-strength 9-year-old Royal Brackla 2012 was bottled in 2021 after spending its life in a first-fill wine barrique that previously housed Banyuls, a sweet French fortified wine from Roussillon.
Bitter chocolate, thyme honey, and apples in flaky pastry
Vanilla cream, a whiff of orange zest, cooked red berries, and a hint of liquorice.
Warming pepper spice fades into lots of dried fruit.
