Bowmore No.1 is produced using single malt Scotch whisky drawn exclusively from first-fill bourbon casks, imparting a creamy sweetness which blends well with the robust Islay smoke that Bowmore is known for.
Nutella on brown bread, sea salt and a hint of lemon zest.
Vanilla notes are up front and sweet (though earthy vanilla pod does appear after a minute). Plenty of coastal peat smoke.
Lingering smokiness.

I love my Islay whiskies. Comparing this whisky to Laphroaig 10 is ludicrous, Laphroaig 10 is SOOOO much better in everyway than Bowmore No1 on a similar price point. I've tried Bowmore before and at the time assumed my palate hadnt developed to the peat. However after revisiting, slightly peated with some creamy notes but mostly find a harsh alcohol after taste I can't shift. I want to like it because it's peated. I've never had a Islay whisky I've not liked yet and I'm not saying I don't like it. I just know there's souch better for the similar price point out there.
A desaster! Where is the old Bowmore strength? Sloppy watery melancholy!
Surprised by this one. Very easy drinking in fact to easy, a great value sipper
Bormore No1 ,mellow ,no burn going down ,light ,for me just what I like , it's a bit light on body ,but it does go down really well ,,not to bad at all , worth the 30 quid I paid ,will I buy again maybe but I've only just devoloped a taste for whiskey ,so what do I know ?
Not a bad drop. Quite smooth and with a subtle taste of peat and smoke with a background hint of coastal freshness. It lingers nicely in the mouth with a sweet after taste. If your looking for something not too flash but worthy of your coin this single malt will not fail.
